Intake for The Rub, our relaxing massage with a few therapeutic aspects to get results for current issues.

Client Intake: Setting the Foundation

What’s happening in this video
In this video, you’ll see how I conduct a clear, calm, and efficient intake with a new massage client. We cover health history, current concerns, goals for the session, and expectations—while establishing rapport, safety, and professional boundaries. This is a short basic intake for a relaxing massage, but she has some issues she wants addressed.

Why I chose to teach this
The intake sets the tone for the entire session. When done well, it builds trust, guides clinical decision-making, and helps both practitioner and client feel grounded before hands-on work begins. I created this video to show how an intake can be thorough without being overwhelming—and how it can support better outcomes on the table.

Outtake is important for clients to understand their body in a deeper way, get pointers on what you worked with and to follow up on what they might need next. It’s also a great time to recommend your favorite exercise to help the body continue to operate at its best.

Client Outtake: Closing the Session with Intention

What’s happening in this video
This video demonstrates how I close a session with a new client through a thoughtful outtake. You’ll see how to check in on the client’s experience, offer simple after-care guidance, share observations when appropriate, and outline next steps.

Why I chose to teach this
The outtake is where integration happens. It helps the client understand what their body experienced, reinforces the value of the work, and supports continuity of care. I created this video because a strong outtake leaves clients feeling informed, supported, and confident about moving forward—rather than rushed or unsure.
