Welcome to KI!

The Keplinger Institute is a professional massage development school dedicated to helping licensed massage therapists elevate their clinical skills, confidence, career longevity, and design practices that are uniquely their own.

Our continuing education courses — accredited by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) — are practical, anatomy-informed, and immediately applicable in real-world practice. Therapists don’t just learn new techniques; they learn how to critically think, adapt, integrate, and refine those techniques so they become seamless, effective parts of their existing sessions.

Grounded in the Ki Results methodology, our trainings blend precision, assessment, and real-world application — helping therapists strengthen their touch, sharpen their clinical reasoning, and build sustainable, results-driven practices within their communities.

Because great bodywork isn’t accidental.
It’s intentional, informed, and effective.

About our Founder:

Lisa Keplinger, BCTMB, LMT, Stick Mobility Coach, A Paint From Your Soul Facilitator
Founder & Lead Educator, Keplinger Institute

Lisa Keplinger, BCTMB, LMT is a nationally board-certified and Indiana licensed massage therapist, educator, and entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in clinical practice, spa leadership, and professional education.

After a successful career as a Condé Nast–recognized resort spa consultant, director, and corporate trainer, Lisa founded That’s the Rub Massage Therapy Center in Bloomington, Indiana in 2009, building a respected clinical practice rooted in community, presence, and results-oriented massage therapy.

She is the founder and lead educator of Keplinger Institute, where she teaches nationally accredited continuing education courses designed to elevate clinical skill, critical thinking, and career sustainability for licensed massage therapists. Through her Ki Results methodology, Lisa helps practitioners refine their touch, strengthen their skills, and confidently integrate new techniques into sessions that are both effective and uniquely their own.

Lisa’s professional foundation began in personal training and group fitness instruction, where she first discovered her passion for teaching, leadership, and functional movement. Years of training individuals, leading classes, and managing teams shaped her whole-person approach — one that recognizes structure, alignment, and focused attention as essential to both effective bodywork and sustainable success.

Her commitment to high-quality, hands-on education is grounded in decades of mentoring staffs and students across the country, as well as program development for destination spas, wellness retreats, and That’s the Rub — including launching the massage therapy program at Ivy Tech Community College and guiding students through externships and immersive Massage Bootcamps.

In addition to her clinical and educational work, Lisa facilitates Wellness Through Art, a guided creative process rooted in the belief that sustainable professional success begins with sustainable personal alignment.

Lisa is dedicated to elevating the massage therapy profession and equipping practitioners with the tools, confidence, and perspective needed to build thriving, sustainable careers.
